By the Sea was shot in August 2014 during Pitt and Jolie’s honeymoon in Malta. The film is set in the 1970s, with Malta’s sister island Gozo doubling as a breath-taking and remote French seaside town. The film was entirely shot on the tiny island of Gozo. Pellikola provided full production services, enlisting over 200 crew members to work on the show. By the Sea was the first time that Jolie Pitt appeared both behind and in front of the camera, starring alongside Pitt as well as an ensemble of renowned French actors like Neils Arestrup and Melanie Laurent. The film was released by Universal Pictures in 2015.
