Maltese film Island of Oblivion has wrapped production. This new work by writer/director Jamie Vella, whose first short film screened at the Valletta Film Festival in 2017, is produced by Pellikola.
Island of Oblivion is a Maltese production based on Book 5 of Homer’s The Odyssey. It features actors Alberto Brosio (Odysseus), Ariadna Cabrol Espinal (Calypso), Paul Portelli (Captain Eurylochus) and Jacqui Losco (Penelope).
Maltese costume designer Luke Azzopardi created sumptuous costume designs specifically for the film, which shot on location in Ghajn Tuffieha, Manikata, Gharghur, Mizieb, Mellieha and Malta Film Studios. The film is set to be released in 2021.
