Love on the Rock Wraps 3-Week Shoot in Malta

Pure Flix and RevengeMovies LLC selected Malta for their upcoming action-adventure flick Love on the Rock (aka Romancing the Cure), which has just completed a 3-week stint on the island, shooting at a variety of locations including in Marsaxlokk, Buggiba, Valletta, Fort St. Elmo, Mellieha and Attard.

The film is centered on Colton Riggs, a former detective who retires to Malta to run Luzzu tours in Marsaxlokk. But Riggs’ idyllic Mediterranean life is soon turned upside down after the accidental discovery of a world-saving cure, which soon sees him battling forces of evil to save humanity.

Malta’s unique seascapes and landscapes, as well as its rich history, give the film a distinctive look and the production was able to take advantage of the skilled labour found here, with local crew making up approximately 75 percent or the production’s workforce.

The film is directed by Matt Shapira, with Eitan Almagor as cinematographer. The film is produced by Shapira and Matthew Marsden (Helen of Troy and Rambo). David A.R. White and Oliver Mallia are the show’s Executive Producers.
