In recent years, a 17th century bastioned fort, which was built by the Knights of St John and is located in southeast Malta, has played host to various productions.

Fort Ricasoli primary function may have been to guard the entrance of Malta’s Grand Harbour, but in recent years it served as a unique open sound-stage.

At over 70,000 sqm, it also contains a number of large domed stores and barracks that serve as excellent interiors to accompany built sets. From Rome in Gladiator to King’s Landing in Game of Thrones, many productions have chosen to build their sets at Fort Ricasoli.
