ARTI is a documentary series (13x 30min) about the history of art in Malta explored through different themes and masterworks. Presented by art historian and educator Hilary Spiteri, the series aims at explaining how art, through its various forms, culturally shaped Malta and the Maltese. To be broadcast in 2016.

TITLE:  VASSALLI

FORMAT: DOCUMENTARY FILM

A biographical documentary about the the troubled and adventurous life of Mikiel Anton Vassalli a Maltese patriot, a reformer, a rebel as well as an academic whose foresight envisaged the awakening of a nationalistic conscience underpinned by the full recognition of the mother tongue.

An original thirteen-part documentary series (13x30min) about the history of food in Malta; a detailed account of how the eating and drinking habits of the Maltese evolved through the centuries.

TITLE:  FAT ISLAND

FORMAT: DOCUMENTARY FILM

STATUS: IN DEVELOPMENT

 

In 2008, 58% of the Maltese were either overweight or obese. It is estimated that by the end of 2015 61% of the population will be in  these weight categories. This 90 minute documentary would examine the major driving forces causing the obesity epidemic from physical inactivity to the strong influence of the food industry.

 

 

TITLE:  BANG BANG

FORMAT: DOCUMENTARY FILM

STATUS: IN DEVELOPMENT

 

Thousands of protected migratory birds fly over Malta every Spring. Hundreds of them are illegally shot death by zealous hunters. In 2015, the people of Malta petitioned to their government to hold a referendum to abolish hunting in Spring and thus ending indirectly the killing of protected birds. However, the majority voted to keep this custom in place. Will it last long?
